Long prayers

did you have one or two brother with way too long prayers in your congregation?

when i was a child we had a brother who would go on and on after the watchtower study for at least five minutes.

many elderly sisters just sat down and a lot were complaining after the long desired amen..

We had a brother once thank Jehovah for the chairs.......I actually let out a "come on already" comment. Chairs? Really? I was counseled because of my comment. I just told the elders I was afraid he was going to give thanks for our underwear next. Gt to be careful, you know.

people on vacation are mysteriously dying or getting violently ill. i’ve been there three times in the past.

Never been to the DR. I've frequently visited the Florida Keys, and to put it plainly I prefer there for my vacation time. With all this negative stuff happening in the news recently, I now have ZERO interest in going to the DR.

We had a sister in our old hall that was notorious for beating her kids with a wooden spoon for some of the most ridiculous things. I think I was in my early 20's when one time, she took her 6 month old baby back and beat it with the spoon. When my mom found out she walked up to that sister, asked her for her spoon and proceeded to slap her right across her face! It was glorious! My mom then told her if she ever sees her with that spoon she would and I quote, "beat the living shit out of her." Not a single elder tried to interfere

How Can You Recognize True Worship?

had to laugh when i read this in the good news from god publication on the website.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/good-news-from-god/recognize-true-worshippers/.

basically, watchtower just rattling of a list of things they (claim) to do when trying to identify "true" worship.. the closing question though, "which religion bases all its teachings on god’s word, honors god’s name, and proclaims god’s kingdom as mankind’s only hope?

I can relate pale.emperor. I had an overzealous elder once go batshit crazy because I did a card trick at a get together. Simple trick a 5 year old could do, but the dumbass was yelling I was inviting demons into our congregation. I was 18 at the time and not baptized. Should have been a HUGE warning sign.
